All Continuing Students
- Log into MyWP and click on the Financial Aid Checklist link under Financial Aid.
- On the Financial Aid homepage, select Financial Aid, and then under the Financial Aid drop-down menu select Report/View Outside Awards.
- Select award year reporting.
- Click on the ‘plus’ sign to add award information. (Add the name of the award, award type, funding source/name of the organization, and award amount.)
Note: A best practice is to also provide us a copy of the letter you received from the scholarship agency advising that you’ve been awarded the scholarship. The letter often contains details for the school to follow.
Warner Pacific’s External Resources Policy
- External resources will be applied first to any remaining unmet financial need.
- If a student’s demonstrated financial need has already been met with federal, state, and/or University resources, this additional funding will reduce your need-based federal financial aid.
- If a student’s need-based federal financial aid must be reduced, the reductions occur in the following order: Federal Direct Subsidized Loan, Federal Work-Study, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG).
- Warner Pacific Scholarships will be reduced in a financial aid package only if the total amount of external resources combined with University grant and/or scholarship assistance exceed the student’s cost of attendance budget.
- Although the entire resource amount may be sent to the University in one payment, scholarship funds will be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters. The scholarship donor may request a different distribution of the student’s funds by providing written instructions to the Financial Aid Office.
Things to keep in mind:
- The information provided on this page is general. Our hope is that it can serve to get you started on your search for outside educational funding, but it is by no means comprehensive.
- Many different places offer external scholarships and application requirements vary widely from one scholarship to another. In some cases, you may find that a scholarship application requires information related to the FAFSA. If you need help understanding the FAFSA and/or the financial aid information needed you are welcome to contact your financial aid counselor.
- We encourage you to cast a wide net during your search for scholarship opportunities because you may find an opportunity from an unexpected source (e.g., nonprofit organizations, employers, your state’s dept of education, affinity groups, etc.).
Undergraduate Scholarships:
In addition to the scholarships offered by the University, students are encouraged to seek scholarship dollars from outside organizations to help cover the cost of their education.
